How we work
No surprises,
in either direction.
The same four steps on every engagement, whether it is a single firewall or a whole-site build. You always know which step you are in and what happens next.
The four steps
What each step actually involves
Step 01
Assess
We start by looking at what is actually there. Existing documentation is usually out of date, so we verify rather than assume — a walk of the site, a look at the rack, an audit of the tenant. For most businesses this is a half-day. You get a written summary of what we found at the end of it, including the things you did not ask about.
Step 02
Plan
You get a written proposal: scope, sequence, cost, and what is explicitly out of scope. We flag the trade-offs rather than hiding them, and we say which items are urgent versus which can wait a budget cycle. The plan is yours to keep whether or not you hire us — if you take it to another supplier, that is a fair outcome.
Step 03
Deploy
Work is staged so you are not offline during business hours unless there is no alternative, and we agree the rollback path before anything is touched. You get a named engineer and a channel to reach them. Changes are logged as they happen, not reconstructed afterwards.
Step 04
Support
Every engagement ends with a handover: as-built documentation, credentials, and a walkthrough with whoever will be living with it. If you want ongoing cover, monitoring starts the day we finish. If you do not, you are fully equipped to run it yourself — that is the point of the documentation.
Working principles
The things we will not bend on.
You own your stuff
Domains, licences, hosting and admin credentials are registered to you, not to us. Always.
We test the backup
A backup nobody has restored is a hypothesis. We restore on a schedule and send you the evidence.
We write it down
If it only exists in an engineer's head, it does not exist. Documentation is part of the deliverable, not an extra.
We say no
If a job is outside what we are good at, we will tell you and point you somewhere better. It costs us a job and saves you a bad one.
Next step
Tell us what’s not working.
A short conversation is usually enough to tell whether we’re the right fit. No pitch deck, no pressure — just a straight read on what you’ve got and what it would take to fix it.
